Elderly woman hospitalized after being hit by bus in East Vancouver

An elderly woman remains in hospital today after being hit by a transit bus in East Vancouver on Sunday afternoon.

The incident took place just before 2:30 pm, when VPD officers – along with fire and ambulance crews – responded to the incident in the area of Nanaimo Street and East 22nd Avenue.

While details surrounding the incident are slim at this point, VPD Sgt. Jason Robillard told Daily Hive the woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

In the meantime, he said, VPD collision investigators “continue to piece the evidence together. ”
