Sen Pad Thai: New noodle spot heading to Granville Island

Chef Angus An is killing the game lately in Vancouver. From his Chinatown soup noodle spot Fat Mao to his stellar modern Thai spot Maenam in Kits, to his Longtail Kitchen and Freebird Chicken in New Westminster, An is rocking the scene here.

Now An is headed to Granville Island, where he’s set to open a Thai noodle shop called Sen Pad Thai.

This exciting new addition to Granville Island’s growing foodie options will be going into the Net Loft building in the former Net Loft Cafe space. On the menu will be variations on traditional Thai “dry” noodle dishes, taking their cue from food stands in Chanthaburi, Thailand.

Here An will offer long noodles in meal-sized portions with snacks and sides also on the menu. While the menu’s final details are being sorted, get your tastebuds primed for dishes along the lines of noodles similar to Pad Thai like the name suggests; big flavours with proteins like chicken, pork, beef, and seafood. Sides range from light Papaya Salad to Thai-style chicken wings, and of course you can get Thai iced tea.

Sen Pad Thai will be open for take-out and for eating in at the Net Loft’s common seating area. A mid-April opening is projected, and Sen Pad Thai will be open daily from 10 am to 7 pm.
