Vancouverites head to the States to get their hands on some salt

With a shortage of salt in Metro Vancouver, Canadians are heading to Bellingham for it.

The two Fred Meyer Bellingham stores are sold out of salt but Walmart says they received a big shipment last night.

But the store says phones have been ringing off the hook with Canadians enquiring about their salt supply.

“Yeah, we can’t keep it on the shelf here, it sells out pretty quick, pretty quick. I’ve got several calls for salt, I sure have.”

However be warned, they only have a few gallons left and the store says it’s dwindling fast with many of the customers coming from Canada.
