Ryan Reynolds hasn’t forgotten where he came from.

Speaking with Fox Sports’ Michael Strahan before Thursday night’s NFL football game, the Vancouver actor gave the BC Lions a rare shoutout on American national television.

When asked by Strahan if he watched a lot of football growing up, given he’s from Vancouver (…as if there aren’t millions of football fans in Canada), Reynolds proved he did.

“I played nine years of football, I loved it,” Reynolds said. “I watched the CFL growing up and the BC Lions were my team.

“The Seattle Seahawks were my NFL team.”

Then they talked about the new Deadpool movie and some new gin he’s selling.

Coincidentally, parts of the first Deadpool movie were filmed outside BC Place Stadium, on the Georgia Viaduct, in 2015.

It was a small mention, but Lions and Seahawks fans alike were smitten by the name drop.
