8 things to do at the River Rock to ring in the holiday season

The River Rock is offering a number of different events and promotions during the holiday season, so you can enjoy the festive lead up to the fullest. But don’t think you can’t enjoy the holiday itself at the River Rock.

The casino resort is hosting two different New Years’ Eve parties, so you can bring in the New Year in style. And, the River Rock is open Christmas day – so you can create some new holiday traditions.

To help you plan your December schedule, we’ve collected eight different events and promotions the River Rock is offering this month.

New Year’s Eve at the River Rock Casino Resort

• What: Ready to party? This New Year’s Eve event is the perfect way to ring in the New Year. The River Rock is bringing in a live DJ to keep the energy, and the dance moves, hopping throughout the night. And if you begin to feel fatigued, just dip into the delicious food and exciting cocktails to revive your spirits and keep the party going. Don’t think that’s enough to make the New Year grand? There will also be live circus performances to keep your adrenaline high into the new year. This party is 19+ and so worth it.

Theatre

Donny and Marie

• What: The iconic Osmond siblings joined forces in 1976 to star in their own TV variety show, and since then they’ve performed live together throughout the world. Donny and Marie were named “Best Show” for three consecutive years by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. For this River Rock performance, the duo will do a mix of holiday songs and classic tunes like “Puppy Love,” “It Takes Two,” and “A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock ‘N Roll.”
• When: December 20 to 22, 8 pm

Kim Mitchell

• What: This Canadian artist will bring some classic ’80s rock to the River Rock on December 30. Kim Mitchell was part of the rock band Max Webster during the 1970s and early ’80s, but went out on his own in 1982. His solo career was an immediate success across North America, as he produced hit after hit. Songs like “Go For Soda,” “Patio Lanterns,” and “I’m A Wild Party” helped Mitchell earn three Juno awards, as well as a National Achievement Award for outstanding success in the Canadian music industry. This concert is the perfect chance to see this Canadian icon live, and you won’t want to miss it.

Casino

Winter’s Winners

• What: When you play at the River Rock Casino, you’ll not only be playing for normal winnings, you’ll be playing to be a Winter Winner. You can win the latest Apple products and cash prizes from a prize pool of over $30,000. When you use your Encore Rewards card at any table game, you’ll be issued a ballot to win at 1, 5, and 9 pm. You also have chances to win at the slots at 1, 5, and 9 pm as well.
• When: November 16 to December 26. Draws happen every Tuesday at 8 pm and Sunday at 4 pm.

New Year’s Eve $3,000 Richer

• What: Encore Rewards members can win up to $3,000 this holiday season with the New Year’s Eve $3,000 Richer cash giveaway. When you play the slots, gamble at tables, and dine at the food court between 6 pm and 2 am on December 30 and 31, you’ll get ballots towards the cash giveaway. There will be three draws, one on December 31 at 11 pm, and two on January 1 at 1 and 2 am.

Breakfast with Santa

• What: Treat your kids to an unforgettable holiday experience. Breakfast with Santa returns to The River Rock Show Theatre for the fourth year in a row. Celebrate the magic of the season with family and friends in a winter wonderland complete with games, entertainment, carnival treats, a candy station and lots of giveaways – and not to mention the River Rock’s famous and festive buffet. Just don’t get distracted and forget to take photos with the big guy himself.
• When: December 17 to 19, 9 am to noon
• Price: $29.95 for adults, $20.95 for children ages 6 to 12, $9.95 for children 4 to 5

Festive Buffet

• What: The buffet is open during the holiday season for festive meals. From Monday to Saturday, you can get lunch between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm. You can also come for dinner on Friday and Saturday from 5 to 9 pm, and come at the same time between Sunday and Thursday for more than $10 off. Sunday’s also have a special brunch, starting at 11:30 am. The buffet is open every day – including Christmas day.
• When: Every day over the holidays, from November 23 to December 30
• Price: $27.95 for adults at lunch, $45.95 for adults at dinner on Friday and Saturday, $33.95 for adults at dinner between Sunday and Thursday, and $42.95 for adults on Sunday brunch

New Year’s Eve Gala Buffet

• What: The River Rock’s legendary New Year’s Eve Gala is back for the 2017 new year. The gala offers all you can eat snow crab and prime rib, and guests will be treated to an array of seafood, shellfish, salads, charcuterie, and desserts. Plus, you’ll get to sit back and listen to the BC jazz trio, the Aidan Miller Trio.
• When: December 31, at 6, 7, 8, and 9 pm
• Price: $54.95 for adults, $43.95 for seniors.
