Richmond RCMP are treating the discovery of a body in a crashed vehicle as the city’s latest homicide.

Just before 3 pm on Sunday, officers responded to reports of gun shot sounds in the area of No. 2 Road and Granville Road. When officers arrived, they found a crashed vehicle nearby with a single dead occupant inside.

Few details are available at this time, and the investigation is now being handled by Metro Vancouver’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).

Anyone with information that could assist investigators is asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-4448 or Crime Stoppers’ anonymous hotline at 1-800-222-8477.
