Vandals in North Vancouver decided to flex their artistic muscles by pouring paint all over a brand new home that was a week away from being move-in ready.

When the contractor overseeing the construction of the home came to work on Tuesday morning, he discovered 15 pails of paint had been thrown over appliances, stone countertops, onto the walls, the hardwood floor, on the carpet, and inside the fridge.

The cost of the damage is estimated to be around $80,000.

Corporal Richard De Jong with the North Vancouver RCMP says it appears this is a break and enter with “intentional, malicious, willful damage.”

“Someone out there will have paint on themselves from throwing that much paint around and likely will be boasting about their criminal behaviour to someone,” he says.

If anyone has any information on this crime, you’re asked to call the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
