There will be some changes to the residential type of an upcoming development that will be the tallest residential tower in Surrey.

Earlier this year, Hong Kong-based Aoyuan International applied to the City of Surrey to convert its 440-ft-tall, 44-storey tower at 10297 133A Street from rental units to market condominium units. The property is near SkyTrain’s Surrey Central Station and SFU Surrey at Central City.

There will be about 550 condominiums – with unit sizes ranging between 321 sq. ft. and 1,475 sq. ft. – and approximately 4,600 sq. ft. of retail space on the ground floor. To support the building’s uses, over 620 vehicle parking spaces will be built within seven underground levels.

An impressive amount of residential amenities are planned for this project; five levels of amenities will house a fitness and wellness centre, business and collaborative workspaces, and the ‘One Club’ – an expansive rooftop amenity space on the top level of the tower.

This rooftop amenity includes both indoor and outdoor space, complete with an indoor environment such as a games room, lounge, and private dining space, as well as a massive outdoor terrace with barbecue stations, a fire pit, and lounge area. And of course, this rooftop features panoramic views of the region.

The building, designed by Chris Dikeakos Architects, has been dubbed ‘One Central’ and is now gearing up for its marketing phase.

Aoyuan International is also behind a proposal to redevelop a nine-acre site near Burnaby’s Brentwood Station into a mixed-use project with several towers containing about 1,500 homes.
