It’s time to scramble shoppers. If you want to shop at Japanese clothing and accessories brand Muji when it opens a pop-up store in Vancouver, you’ll need a reservation.

The pop-up store, the retailer’s first venture into Metro Vancouver, will be located at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel, and open from January 27 to February 28.

However, according to a blogpost published recently by Muji, there will be a reservation system in place to access the retail area.

Only one reservation can be booked at a time, and no exchanges or transfers of times and dates are permitted.

Citing the high level of interest in the store, the Muji blogpost states categorically that shoppers will not be able to access the store without a reservation.

If you want to reserve, you’ll have to act fast; reservations for Muji, which are free, open 48 hours before each time slot.

The first reservations for Muji’s Vancouver pop-up store will go live on January 25 at 11 am; to reserve, head to Muji Vancouver’s Eventbrite page.

The pop-up store is part of a Japan Unlayered exhibition, celebrating contemporary Japanese architecture, design, and culture, designed to be a sensory experience.

The exhibition has been curated by world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, and real estate developers Westbank, and the Peterson Group.
