Pet owners in Metro Vancouver now have another location for their animals to seek medical attention and care.

Mountainside Animal Hospital (MAH) at 2580 Capilano Road, just off Highway 1 in North Vancouver, opened its doors earlier this week as a 24/7 facility providing around-the-clock emergency care, diagnostics, surgery, and medical treatment and facilities.

The animal hospital is within its own, two-storey purpose-built building, occupying 11,320-sq-ft of space, making it one of the largest animal hospitals in Western Canada.

According to a release, it includes the latest in advanced surgery and diagnostics, including specially designed life-support stations, two large surgical suites, and separate cat and dog intensive care unit wards.

The building also houses the District of North Vancouver’s animal shelter, replacing the old facility on Mansfield Place. It takes up about 1,400-sq-ft of the building’s space.

MAH says its facility provides the Sea-to-Sky corridor, West Vancouver, and North Vancouver with a 24/7 emergency, critical care, and general medicine animal hospital, filling a regional gap in coverage.
