The 10 most trusted brands in Canada were just announced

Trust is a very personal thing.

If brands knew how to earn yours easily, it’s the first thing they’d go after every time they introduced you to a new product.

Because, for the most part, trust = loyalty.

And loyalty, well, loyalty means you’re going to consistently drop your hard earned dollars with them while not giving the competition much more than a cynical eye. So if a brand has your trust they also have your loyalty which means they get your money.

Got it? Good. ‘Cause all of these brands certainly do.

Which is why, when the University of Victoria’s Peter B. Gustavson School of Business releases its annual Gustavson Brand Trust Index (GBTI), which “measures Canadian consumers’ opinions about 276 corporate and product brands across 27 categories,” it’s a big deal.

It tells both Canadians and the companies wooing them who’s doing what and how well.

That said, after all the in-depth analysis, these are the top 10 brands Canadians trust the most in 2016:

Which is full of all sorts of interesting insights like the fact that Global TV is far and away the most trusted media source in the country, that Samsung is 35 spots ahead of Apple, and that Tesla is the most trusted car company in Canada despite selling less than a few thousand cars a year so far.

Equally as interesting are the brands who took home first place in their respective categories.
