Best known for its dinnertime tasting menus, Kitsilano’s Mission restaurant has recently jumped into the brunch game with their own unique weekend service.

While brunch is served between the regular dining hours of 10:30 am to 2 pm, brunch itself follows its own path. Indeed, the meal is served harvest-style to the group, a serving manner not seen elsewhere in the city.

Fluctuating between $24 and $29 per person, brunch at Mission includes homemade breakfast bread or a baked starter, an egg based main, a lunch based main, usually a side, and a breakfast-style dessert.

Examples of Misson’s ever-changing menu include a moreish slice of raisin and cranberry toast to start, which is served with a summery strawberry rhubarb preserve.

In regards to mains, diners can expect to find dishes like rösti with cured salmon, a hearty slab of pork terrine topped with a gorgeously runny fried egg and a slightly sweet tomato relish, and a wilted kale salad, sprinkled with radish slices and tossed in a luxurious brie dressing.
When it comes to sweets, Mission offers up tasty treats like their very own strawberry shortcake rendition, which rounds the meal out nicely.

Also on the brunch roster, a variety of beverages. In addition to eye opening brunch cocktails (all hail to the Bloody Caesar), Mission also offers a range of freshly squeezed juices, which are all made on-site. Brunch goers who want a daily dose of vitamins can request a freshly squeezed concoction like the Mean Green Juice, a vibrant blend of kale, celery, apple, lemon, and cucumber.
Patrons who enjoy swigging a little bit of vino will be happy to note that all bottles of wine and bubbles are half price at brunch.
