Milestones closes in Yaletown, new steakhouse to open in its spot [UPDATED]

Maybe you’ve noticed, maybe you didn’t, but the Milestones Bar & Grill in Yaletown is completely closed.

This comes not long after the original Milestones in English Bay shuttered in the winter of 2016.

Located at 1109 Hamilton Street, the Yaletown location of the chain restaurant closed on February 25 of this year.

Milestone’s told Daily Hive via email:

It was with a heavy heart that we had to close the doors at Yaletown, but the ownership of the property changed hands and that ownership has other plans for the use of the building. We continue to invest in what is presently 13 locations in BC, including our most recent opening earlier this year in Tsawwassen, and our newly-renovated location at Park Royal in West Vancouver. We have over $3 Million allocated to renovating additional restaurants in the BC market this year.

So Milestones will continue focusing on restaurants outside of the downtown core.

Now that the Hamilton Street spot has been sold, there’s going to be a new kid on the block opening in the prime Yaletown corner spot – the question is, what will it be?

Update May 9, 2017: According to a representative from Toptable, we can confirm the concept for the new eatery opening in this spot.

“Toptable Group is working on exciting plans to launch a steakhouse in the former Milestones location. More details to follow regarding the newest member of the Toptable Group.”
