Canada’s leading outdoor retailer, Mountain Equipment Co-op, has relocated their Vancouver headquarters into a next generation green building in the False Creek Flats in East Vancouver.

The new head office is located at 1077 Great Northern Way (near transit, along a greenway, across from a park) and was specifically chosen for the opportunities it provides employees to bike or bus to and from work, and to exercise in the nearby green space.

The bike storage room (in the basement) holds some 128 bikes, or approximately one bicycle storage space for every three employees.

The multi-purpose room on the main floor will be used for large gatherings (including future AGMs) as well fitness and yoga classes. There is also a custom bouldering cave.

The building is designed to achieve LEED Platinum certification, exceeding the city’s requirement of LEED Gold for commercial rezoning projects.
