Man dies after overnight stabbing in Vancouver

One man is dead after an overnight stabbing in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

Around 3:30 am Tuesday, police were called to to an incident East Hasting Street, between Main and Columbia.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man on the ground, suffering from a “serious” stab wound.

Paramedics took the man to hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

“Detectives from the VPD Major Crime Section have been called to the scene and are expected to be there throughout the morning,” the VPD said in a release.

So far, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
