You can get a burger with mac and cheese buns at this Gastown diner
There are burgers. And then there are burger experiences. Eating a juicy burger with mac and cheese “buns” is definitely more of an experience, and you can do it at Gastown’s beloved modern diner-style spot, Save On Meats.
Already known for their stellar roster of burgers from basic to super loaded, this new menu option at Save On Meats takes feeding your Food Baby to a whole new level.
Rather than giving you just one burger on the menu with these specially-formed and then fried rounds of mac and cheese, SOM has the option to swap out plain ol’ brioche buns for them as an add on to any burger on the menu for an extra $3.95.
You can show restraint and get just a straight up SOM Legendary Burger with one in house-ground beef patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles, or you can opt to do some serious add-ons, like mushrooms, an extra patty, bacon, or (and?) a fried egg.
Or, you can press those mac and cheese buns around the other burgers on the menu, like their house-made veggie burger, or the Spicy Chicken & Avocado burger. Honestly, there’s no wrong way to go here.
Besides figuring out how to get all that food in your mouth, your only other job is to save room for a side of tots and one of their epic milkshakes. Oh, PS, did we mention they have a lineup of boozy shakes, too? See ya!
