An annual event inspired by light and artistic expression is returning to downtown Vancouver in November.

Lumiere is a series of interactive art installations that lights up three iconic locations throughout the city:

  • English Bay
  • Jim Deva Plaza
  • šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square, formerly known as the North Plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery

This year, Lumiere will feature 17 public artworks created by local and international artists.

The event will also expand to the šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square, with seven interactive
installations to help celebrate the arrival of Daylight Savings Time.

The plaza will become a showcase of music and light art to inspire, intrigue and interact with. Public Disco will return to light up Davie Village on Saturday, November 3, for a night of music and dancing. With a lineup of local DJ’s, hundreds of disco balls and a variety of immersive art works, this will be a night not to miss.

Lumiere kicks off on Friday, November 2, and runs until Sunday, November 4, 2018, in all
three locations.

More information about the festivals is available online.
