23-year-old dies after being shot in Langley on Friday night

A 23-year-old man is dead after a shooting in Langley on Friday night.

Around 9 pm, Langley RCMP responded to reports of shots fired at a townhouse complex in the 8200 block of 204B Street.

When officers arrived, they found a man inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital, but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called in as a result of the incident and has taken over conduct of the investigation.

On Saturday, police said the shooting appears to be targeted, and the victim was identified as Surrey resident, Tarek Ali Al-Romeshi.

A white Nissan 370Z was found on fire near the scene of the shooting as well.

There are people who knew Mr. Al-Romeshi that may have information that could help us solve his murder,” said Cpl. Frank Jang of IHIT. “I urge these individuals to come forward and speak with IHIT.”
