Langley RCMP is asking the public to remain vigilant when walking alone in the evening after a report of a female being groped in downtown Langley.

In the late evening of December 11, a young woman called the police to report that she had been assaulted as she tried to enter her building.

According to the woman, a male approached her from behind and groped her. She screamed and her father heard her from the building and the man ran off. Her father was not able to apprehend the suspect.

The suspect is described as 5’8” – 5’11” tall, in his mid 20’s, and light skinned. He was wearing black shoes, black pants, and a black cloth hoodie with white lettering on the sleeve. He was last seen on 208 Street.

Langley Watch General Investigation Section (GIS) is investigating the incident. There have not been any similar reports of this type, but police are still asking the public to remain vigilant when walking alone.

“Consider walking with a friend or family member, remove earphones so you can hear people and traffic around you and take note of people you feel are suspicious around you,” said Langley RCMP in a release.

If you have any information regarding this incident, please call Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
