Halford, Brough, Martignago to return for Kurtenblog Radio on TSN 1040

Good news for Vancouver sports fans under the age of 40, Kurtenblog Radio is coming back!

The popular radio show went off the air in 2011 when Mike Halford and Jason Brough moved to NBC Pro Hockey Talk, but returned to TSN 1040 in January of this year. They haven’t had a show since May, but they’re making another comeback, this time with their beloved longtime show producer Mike Martignago.

Here’s a look at the hilarious press release they’ve sent out to media:

Kurtenblog Radio, the crown jewel of Vancouver’s mid-weekend sports radio landscape (non-lacrosse/CFL division), is pleased to announce that beloved third wheel Mike Martignago will rejoin the show beginning Saturday, Oct. 1 on TSN 1040.

“I’m extremely excited to be back with Brough and Halford,” Martignago said, via Snapchat. “We’ve been planning and scheming for a few months now. The goal has always been to put out adequate to somewhat average radio.

“We’re going to have a number of hard hitting, informative and innovative segments, including: ‘Say to me I’m incorrect,’ ‘Isn’t it just you?’ and ‘KBMZ.’

“We also plan on recapping birthdays of celebrities from the 1940s.”

Martignago will reprise his role as show producer, but also take on additional duties, like keeping Brough awake during MMA segments, and preventing Halford from choking on his own phlegm.

“Marts is like family, in that you don’t get to choose your family,” Halford said. “His Albanian heritage will also bring some much needed ethnicity and diversity to the show.”

“Marts is Italian, you moron,” Brough added. “And for the record I hate this press release idea.”

KB Radio will air on Saturdays from 3 to 5 pm on TSN 1040, beginning on October 1st.
