After a highly successful market that took place last June, Japan Market Vancouver has announced the dates of their next event.

On Sunday, November 4, 2018, the Japanese market will be hosting their Christmas Fair.

While it may be early to start thinking about Christmas markets, event organizer Yuko Yoshida has told Daily Hive that they’ve already secured a larger, more spacious venue.

Last June’s event was held at UBC Robson Square in the Sunroom and Gallery room. “This time, we’ve booked five rooms, almost all of the upper floor,” says Yoshida.

In total, the venue space will be more than double the size of their June market with approximately 40 vendors so far.

“We had about 2000 visitors last time, we’ll be expecting more than 5000 come November.”

Vendors and crafters will be putting their work on display, with a unique selection of Japanese crafts and products available. Items like jewellery, soap, notebooks, ceramics, kimonos, charms, and hair accessories will be available, just to name a few.

Yoshida also commented that visitors last year were searching for authentic Japanese snacks and food. She explained that “the venue only allows packaged food” but visitors can expect treats like baked goods, chocolates, puddings, and traditional teas this time around.

Onsite services like body and hand massages, as well as aromatherapy, will also be available. Japan Market
