Vancouver Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for James Benson, a dangerous sex offender who fled from his halfway house.

According to police, the 36-year-old is a two-time federal offender with a history of violent offences, such as attempted murder and sexual assault with a weapon. He was only released on Thursday and was to serve a long-term supervision order with conditions.

Benson has been described by police as Caucasian, 5’10” tall, 200 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a number of tattoos, including the numbers 011707 on his left wrist, the word “MORBID” on his left forearm, “LOST SOUL” on his chest, and red stars on both shoulders.

Anyone who has seen Benson or knows his whereabouts is asked not to approach him and call 9-1-1 immediately.
