Got some old home movies tucked away in a cupboard that you have never bothered to watch? What about a stack of old VHS tapes that you can no longer view because VCRs are a thing of the past?
On Saturday, October 15, you can finally watch those old tapes and celebrate amateur films and filmmaking at Home Movie Day Vancouver.
Home Movie Day is a chance for the public to bring in their home movies and share them with a community audience.
Anyone is invited to bring in their movies on film (8mm, Super 8, 16mm) and video (VHS, DV, MiniDV) for inspection, preservation advice, and on-site projection. Experts from local archives, a digital transfer service provider, and an independent filmmakers society will also be on site.
Be sure to bring your films in no later than 3 pm to make sure they can be properly assessed.
When: Saturday, October 15 from 12 pm to 4 pm
Where: Grand Luxe Hall, 303 East 8th Ave.
