Awesome news for muggles! The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra has announced it will play all eight Harry Potter film scores live in concert.

“The Harry Potter film series is one of those once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomena that continues to delight millions of fans around the world,” reads the VSO website.

“Audiences will relive the magic of the film in high-definition on the big screen, while the orchestra performs the unforgettable John Williams score live on the Orpheum stage.”

The first of the concerts will of course be Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the first instalment of the film adaptations of author J.K. Rowling’s tales of a boy wizard.

The first ever performance of the film’s score in Canada will be on Thursday, July 21, with repeat performances on Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23.

Dates for the other seven film performances have not yet been released.
