Get ready to feel old. It’s been 20 years since fans were first introduced to the wizarding world of Harry Potter!

Since then us muggles haven’t been able to get enough of JK Rowling’s sorcerous stories, so it’s no surprise to see an assortment of commemorative events conjure their way into our calendars this weekend.

Among the more interesting things for Potterheads to enjoy in Van City, however, is a collection of rare Harry Potter books, including first editions and signed copies, which will be on display at the The Orpheum.

The books are part of a display of selected items from the UBC Library’s that features rare books and antiquarian books featuring magical creatures and monsters, and memorabilia.

Designed to coincide with a screening of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban with accompanying music performed by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, it promises to be a magical experience for anyone who is a fan of the boy wizard’s escapades.
