Hapa Izakaya Coal Harbour, located at 909 W Cordova Street, is officially closing its doors this month.
Justin Ault, one of Hapa’s owners, confirmed the news with Daily Hive, who said the Hapa team will be focusing on marketing its remaining location in Yaletown at 1193 Hamilton Street.
Ault says the brand has now “come full circle” by just having the OG Yaletown restaurant, but he is also “sad and disappointed” about the soon-to-be-shuttered spot in Coal Habour.
“We’re not 100% sure when the last day will be for Hapa Izakaya Coal Harbour will be,” Ault said over the phone on June 9. “But it could be as soon as one week from now.”

Once a flourishing Canadian mini-chain, Hapa now will only operate one Vancouver location in Yaletown.
Hapa Izakaya Robson and Hapa Kitsilano had closed in June 2016 and August 2015 respectively. Hapa Izakaya Coal Harbour first opened in 2011 and will be closing after seven years of operation.
We will keep you posted on an official closing date for this spot, which will be replaced by Francesco’s Ristorante.
