FEATURED ON THE LISTED GUIDE
The Vancouver Art Gallery has just announced the Canadian premiere of their latest exhibit, Guo Pei: Couture Beyond.
The exhibition will showcase eye-catching and breathtaking designs from Guo Pei, China’s foremost female fashion designer.
Pei’s work mixes “China’s rich aesthetic tradition with contemporary sensibilities” and has secured her a place amongst the world’s finest fashion designers.
Her accomplishments in the industry have earned her a spot on Time Magazine’s list of 100 Most Influential People, as well as Business of Fashion’s 500 list.
The Couture Beyond exhibition will display a number of stunning pieces that are iconic in both the world of designer fashion and pop culture. Some of the pieces to be seen include her collaboration line with MAC Cosmetics, Guo’s Legend of the Dragon collection, and ornate garments inspired by Switzerland’s Cathedral of Saint Gallen.
Perhaps the most iconic and recognizable piece to be seen will be Guo’s imperial canary-coloured cape. Most known as being Rihanna’s yellow cape at the 2015 Met Gala.
The exhibit will be displayed at the Vancouver Art Gallery from Saturday, October 13, 2018, to Sunday, January 20, 2019.
