Freezing your eggs may not be the first thing that comes to mind before you hit 30 – but it’s something to seriously consider .
Fertility issues are more relevant today than ever before since many women and couples are starting families later in life. And luckily, new technologies are making it possible for them to have children when they choose.
That’s why Vancouver-based clinic, Genesis Fertility Centre, is hosting an information event on infertility and egg freezing on Tuesday, October 17.
You can go along to the session and get to know the Genesis team as you learn more about the services they provide, and mingle with others who are also considering egg freezing. It’s free to attend the event but space is limited so make sure you RSVP by emailing [email protected] or calling 778-819-1201.
Recently, the average age of a woman’s first pregnancy in BC surpassed 31 years old, making egg freezing a viable option for having children. Freezing your eggs means you can have more freedom when it comes to having a family when you’re ready. This could mean when you complete your education, when you reach a certain stage in your career, or when you find the right partner.
At Genesis’ information evening, you’ll get to hear from medical director Dr Sonya Kashyap, who will be covering the medical and practical aspects of freezing eggs and what makes for a good candidate. Plus you’ll have the opportunity to ask her questions at the end of her talk. You’ll also get to to learn why Dr Kashyap believes there is still a “Fertility Gender Gap,” and that professional women face obstacles that professional men don’t.
While you’re at the event, you’ll have the chance to speak with Dr Aimee Eyvazzadeh – the renowned Egg Whisperer and originator of “Egg Freezing Parties.” She will be joining in on the evening via video chat from California.
There will also be patients at the event who have undergone egg freezing themselves who will be able to answer any questions about the process and share their experience.
Genesis Fertility Centre helps individuals conceive using advanced reproductive technology and patient-centric, holistic care, and treatment plans. The centre’s medical director, Dr Sonya Kashyap and her team have decades of experience working with assisted reproductive technology. And their clinic has become the first in Canada to voluntarily undergo independent verification of success rates by IVF Reports and Fertility Authority – both recognized leaders in IVF standards and patient advocacy. The centre’s work has resulted in patient pregnancy rates that are significantly higher than the national average for clinics in both Canada and the U.S.
