No matter the weather, it’s always a good time to eat high-quality French sweets and chocolates in Vancouver. A quick look around shows international brands such as LaduréeL’Éclair de Génie, and La Glace blossoming into full-fledged local faves.

There’s a new French spot that’s popped up on our radar, but it’s not from a far-off land, Forêt Noire’s roots lie right here at home, despite the Parisian ring to the name.

The 2,000 sq. ft. space, located at 236 West Broadway, is set to open in June 2018, tentatively, and if the renderings are to be believed, is going to be a big addition to the sweet scene in Mount Pleasant.

The modern French patisserie will have seats for 25 and an additional 10 on their patio where patrons can enjoy cold and hot beverages, croissant sandwiches, and elegant sweets like the Ganache Rose, éclairs, chocolate mousse, mille-feuilles, and an assortment of other decadent drinks and treats.

Smaller eats like egg tarts and macarons will also be up for order once this sprawling bakery and cafe opens.
