It’s a fine time to dig out an old white shirt and get your tye-dye on, as Colour Fest takes to Yaletown this weekend.

Colour Fest is a celebration of the South Asian festival ‘Holi’ – also known as the “festival of colours.”

It’s a spring festival that’s popular all around the globe and signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, and a festive day to meet others.

The community event will be celebrated with an outdoor concert mixed with a powdered colour party and it’s free to attend for all ages.

The concert will feature performances from Nishant Sharma, Get Bent Belley Dancers Elaina and Nicole, and tunes by High Voltage Roadshow ft. DJ Kash.

Although the powdered colour that will be used at the event is organic and washable, event organizers recommend wearing old clothing for the event.

In addition, if anyone has allergies or medical issues that prevent them from participating in the colour zone, they are welcome to observe the music and dance performances from a viewing area.
