Tens of thousands expected for Davie Street Block Party 2017 on Friday night

Jul 12 2017, 1:15 am

Davie Street is the place to be on Friday night as three blocks of the street will be closed off for the 2017 Davie Street Party.

With the Vancouver Pride Parade taking place two days later on Sunday, August 6, the Davie Street Block Party will be kicking Pride weekend into gear with eight DJs, two stages, and a ChillZone showcasing local poetry, music, and other performances.

The party will span along Davie Street from Burrard Street to Jervis Street, and will feature more bars than last year, in the hopes of lessening wait time.

RFID keychains are available to be loaded up for drink purchases, and can be used in beer gardens at the Davie Street Party as well as other Pride events including Pride Sports Day on June 22, Pride Gateway at Jim Deva Plaza, and the Sunset Beach Festival.
