There’s an outdoor bowling extravaganza happening in Vancouver next weekend.
Sponsored by Granville Island Brewery, the fun and interactive event will feature lawn games, music, entertainment, themed décor, a food and beverage service, a live silent auction, raffle prizes, and much more.
Since 2014, the event has raised more than $21,000 for the BC Cancer Foundation and Ride to Conquer Cancer.
And it’s so easy to take part this year.
You can round up three of your friends and opt for the team registration online, which costs $120. Or, if you want to get involved on your own, you can sign up as a single entry and you’ll be assigned a team.
All teams are encouraged to come up with a fun name and dress up in costumes – the best dressed will take home a sweet prize.
If you’d prefer to take in the action from the sidelines and cheer on the teams, you can do that by snapping up a $20 spectator ticket online now via Eventbrite.
Event organizers, the Conquest Cycling Club, are a young, motivated team looking to make a difference in the local community by throwing awesome events, connecting people from different backgrounds, and pushing them to step out of their comfort zone.
Since it was established in 2011, the not-for-profit cycling club has raised more than $200,000 to support the efforts of the BC Cancer Foundation and, in an effort to raise awareness, members have ridden over 1,200 kilometres, with no plan on stopping. Interestingly, 90% of members who have joined the team didn’t even own a bicycle when they first signed up. So you could do the same.
When: Saturday, August 19
Where: Granville Park Lawn Bowls Club – 3025 Fir Street, Vancouver
Price: $20 spectator tickets | $120 registration for a team of four – Tickets available online via Eventbrite
