9 artists and bands confirmed for Concord's New Year's Eve Vancouver fireworks

There will be a ton of diverse live music and entertainment to celebrate some of Canada’s finest up and coming artists and talents and to ring in 2019 at Concord’s New Year’s Eve Vancouver.

Nearly a dozen performers, including some notable names, are set to take the stage for this year’s festival.

This year, most of the performances will happen inside Vancouver Convention Centre West and require a ticket.

DJs will also be on-site to turn the Free Outdoor Street Party at Jack Poole Plaza into an electric celebratory environment.

Shawn Austin

With over four million collective streams to date, Shawn Austin has worked tirelessly to cement his place in the Canadian country music landscape.

Following the meteoric rise of his debut single “Paradise Found”, which landed him as one of the Top 10 most played Canadian Country artists on radio, the Vancouver based singer/songwriter was offered the opportunity to perform nightly as a surprise guest on Platinum-selling country star Dallas Smith’s wildly successful 27 date “Side Effects Tour”.

This past spring, he hit the road for a handful of dates with Gold-certified US country artist Chris Lane and an Ontario run with ACM nominated sibling duo High Valley.

The Tourist Company

Tourist Company are an alternative rock/pop group from Vancouver. Since their inception in 2013, they have become one of Vancouver’s standout indie acts, charting nationally on CBC Radio, and garnering praise from critical publications.

They’ve toured across Canada several times, performed internationally at festivals like FIMPRO in Guadalajara, Mexico, Reeperbahn in Hamburg, Germany, and Upstream in Seattle, WA. Their new single “Spokane” was released on May 18, 2018 and currently, the band is recording their second record in preparation for a late 2019 release.

For over 25 years, The Paperboys have been touring the world and lighting up stages with their free-wheeling blend of influences from Celtic and bluegrass, to Mexican son jarocho, brass bands, and Canadian roots. This critically acclaimed band has been honoured with a Juno award, plus two Juno nominations, released nine albums, and regularly play two-night bills in the Pacific Northwest.

Groove & Tonic

One of Vancouver’s most sought-after party bands, Groove & Tonic embrace a high energy blend of Pop/R&B/Funk with a repertoire both classic and contemporary. Always engaging, these musicians showcase their top-notch musicality and infallible grooves. A band that looks and sounds like its name, Groove & Tonic would like to intoxicate you and get you up on the dance floor!

Nearly Neil & The Solitary Ban

For over two decades Bobby Bruce has been astounding appreciative audiences around the globe with his dynamic and passionate musical tribute to Neil Diamond.

On his first national tour of Australia in 1996, the press dubbed him “Nearly Neil” and the name stuck. Bobby’s genuine respect for the music and heartfelt connection with the audience; coupled with his engaging stage presence and stunning vocal delivery have kept him in a league of his own.

Featured in MOCKSTARS, a million-dollar feature length documentary about Canadian tribute artists, this consummate performer has become a regular fixture at elite casinos, theatres and festivals across North America, Australia & Europe.
