Step into an enchanted forest with Canyon Lights in North Vancouver

Nov 23 2017, 2:57 am

The perfect holiday season is wrapped in twinkling lights.

Okay, so you can deck your house out with tons of lights, invest in a pre-lit mini LED Christmas tree, or even add some copper wire lights to your living space to create that magical feeling.

But it’s so much better when you’re surrounded by thousands of glittering lights in a majestic forest setting.

That’s why you need to go to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park at least once this season. You can visit the park from now until January 28, 2018 to experience the awe and magic that comes along with the ultimate winter festival, Canyon Lights.

The suspension bridge, treetops adventure, cliffwalk, the rainforest, and canyon have all been transformed into a world of visual enchantment.

You can take a walk across the suspension bridge and snap the most Instagram-worthy photo of the season. Alternatively, you can walk through the treetops adventure and capture the beauty of the North Shore’s natural landscape as you pass between the 30-ton Douglas fir illuminated trees.

And since there’s a series of seven suspension bridges at treetops adventure, where the platforms first reach 110 feet high, you’ll be crushing on your surroundings the entire time.

Eight Douglas fir trees are 250 years-old and tower over 200 feet high tall – making them the tallest Christmas trees in the world. So you’ll definitely have the best views you could imagine from here.

While you’re at Canyon Lights, you can bring the kids on a snowy owl prowl and sing along to carols with the onsite holiday band. And there’s something more for the kids too in the winter craft tent as they can decorate gingerbread cookies (by donation), decorate wooden ornaments, and make their own holiday badge (by donation).

Tickets to Canyon Lights cost $42.95 for adults and $33.95 for students or grab a BC Annual Pass special for Canyon Lights only, an Annual Pass for a family (2 adults and 1 or 2 children under 16) is only $89.

You can snap up yours at the gate or online via Capilano Suspension Bridge.

Happy Instagramming!
