50/50 hits record $1 MILLION at final Canucks home game for Sedins
As if the Sedins hadn’t already done enough for local charities.
Playing in front of Canucks fans in Vancouver for the last time, Henrik and Daniel Sedin’s final home game had a storybook finish.
Daniel scored two goals, both assisted by Henrik, including the game-winner in overtime.
It was a night unlike any other in Canucks history.
Also history-making was the 50/50 jackpot, which soared to new heights.
The 50/50 has officially broken the $1 MILLION mark! $1,014,555.

Because six 50/50 payouts went unclaimed this season, tonight’s pot started at $400,000. The amped-up, sold out crowd boosted that total quite a bit, pushing the pot to a North American record $1,014,555.
That means one lucky fan walked away from the game with more than half a million dollars.

The previous season-high was $149,220, for a take-home prize of $74,610.
As the name suggests, 50% of the total pot goes to the winner, while the other half benefits the Canucks For Kids Fund charity. The Canucks For Kids Fund supports various charitable groups throughout British Columbia, including the Canuck Autism Network, Canuck Place, and the BC Children’s Hospital.
The Sedins are well known for donating their time and money to local charities throughout their 18 years in Vancouver, including famously contributing $1.5 million to BC Children’s Hospital in 2010 – which they attempted to do anonymously.
