Take on a 6 km run, a scenic trail bike, and an obstacle course in aid of Canuck Place

The ultimate end-of-summer activity is almost here – the Canuck Place Adventure Race.

Taking place at Jericho Beach Park on Sunday, September 17, the all-ages event offers a fun athletic challenge for all fitness levels in aid of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.

You can join in on the fun by doing a a 15 km scenic trail bike, 6 km run, as well as an exciting obstacle course, all for a great cause. Kids can also enjoy their very own custom race featuring a 3 km bike ride, a 2 km run, and an obstacle course before reaching the finish line.

Race for a reason in an event that supports Canuck Place families in BC like Dwayne and Angela from Surrey. In 2016 they joined the Adventure Race and formed a team aptly titled, ‘This Lil Light’ in honour of their daughter Lumina, who is on the Canuck Place program.

“We created our Adventure team because we really believe each dollar raised would have an eternal significance on the lives of those who call Canuck Place their home away from home,” Dwayne and Angela said in a press release.

You can register via Canuck Place now to take part in the Adventure Race. It costs $40 for kids and $100 for adults to sign up. And since registration closes on September 10, you’ll want to make sure you save your spot as soon as possible.

Plus you’ll get access to the fun and lively Festival Zone that features a delicious pancake breakfast, relaxing massages, face painting, an inflatable slide, and more, with your registration.

Canuck Place Children’s Hospice is BC’s pediatric palliative care provider. More than 715 children living with life-threatening illnesses and families receive care from CPCH through outreach programs and two provincial hospice locations: Vancouver and Abbotsford.

Services provided by the hospice include medical respite and family support, pain and symptom management, 24-hour phone consultation support and in-house clinical care, music, art and recreation therapy, education, grief and loss counselling, and end-of-life care.
