Vancouver is hosting a professional foosball tournament this weekend

If you thought foosball was simply a game to be played in your parents’ basement, think again.

The stakes will be high as professional foosball hits the 12 Kings Pub in East Vancouver this weekend. Seven spots in the 2019 ITSF World Cup of Table Soccer in Murcia Spain are on the line, as pro foosballers compete in the three-day event.

Vancouver Foosball is hosting the third-annual Western Canadian Foosball Championships beginning this Friday at 7 pm, with the tournament wrapping up on Sunday night.

There will be events for beginners, up to professionals. Winners of the open singles, open doubles, women’s singles, senior singles, and senior doubles will earn a spot to represent Canada at the World Cup.
