Vancouver's Canada Day Parade will take place on July 2... after Canada Day

Jun 16 2017, 12:45 am

A focal point of Vancouver’s annual Canada Day celebrations is still scheduled to take place this year, but the timing will be a little… different.

With Canada celebrating its 150th birthday this year, celebrations are scheduled to take place over two days: Saturday, July 1 (Canada’s birthday) and Sunday, July 2.

And it’s on July 2 that the annual Canada Day parade through downtown Vancouver will take place, as part of what organizers call the celebration’s “grand finale.”

Presented by Port of Vancouver, the free community parade features more than 60 dynamic entries and is meant to recognize diversity, multiculturalism and the bond that connects all Canadians.

The parade starts at the corner of Georgia and Broughton Streets, runs eastbound along Georgia, proceeding north down Burrard Street and ending at West Pender.
