Sad news burger lovers, just one month after announcing two new Metro Vancouver locations,Ā CaliBurgerĀ has officially shut down its Downtown Vancouver eatery.

The US burger chain, located atĀ 830 Thurlow Street, has a sign up on its door explaining the location has permanently closed.

This spot first opened its doors in June 2016.

The sign also directed customers to head to their new Burnaby location in January 2018, where they will re-open at Simon Fraser University.

Taking a note from legendary In-N-Out’s menu, CaliBurger specialized in thick shakes and big greasy burgers, although many Vancouverites found the prices a little high for everyday grub.

If you were a fan of this purveyor, not to worry – you can still grab their offerings at the soon-to-be-open SFU spot, along with a new Surrey location going in atĀ 10330 152 Street.
