Love or hate those bike lanes, you’ve got to admit cyclists in Vancouver have it pretty good – especially when it comes to bike shops.

Cycling stores abound in this city – so if you find yourself with a puncture or simply decide it’s time to trade up, there are lot of options.

So here are 31 bike shops where you can get your bike fixed or just buy a new one in Vancouver.

Bike Doctor

  • What: Bike Doctor and owner/operator Paul Bogaert has been a hub of the local biking community for 25 years. Aimed at city bikers, Bike Doctor offers repairs and sales of new bikes, carrying many brands including Norco, Devinci, Yuba and Raleigh.
  • Where: 137 West Broadway, Vancouver

Velofix

  • What: Velofix mobile bike repair service was founded in 2012 in Vancouver, but has now spread throughout Canada. Simply book a service and their expert local bike mechanic will come to you and fix your bike right there in their Mobile Bike Shop van.
  • Where: Wherever you are, in Vancouver or Richmond.
  • When: Appointment slots start as early as 8 am, and finish at as late as 7:30 pm, depending on availability and which day you choose.

Ride On

  • What: This chain of bike sales and repair shops has locations in Kitsilano, Main and Marpole and not only offer tune ups for your bike, but also your skis and snowboard! Plus you can choose from new and used bikes if you want to upgrade.

  • What: Yes, Vancouver’s first bike cafe will service your bike while you grab a coffee. There’s no appointment needed for bike repairs, just take it in, then sit down with a sandwich while you wait. Occasionally, you’ll even find a used bike for sale out front.

  • What: Dream Cycle only sell steel frame bikes – that’s chromoly or Molybdenum – and work closely with you to design the exact bike for your needs. They’re also very green – in the busy season, they produce less than two bags of garbage a month.

  • What: Speed Theory is a specialty shop, run my passionate riders, aimed at triathletes and cyclists, selling high-end road, cyclocross, triathalon and track bikes. They also do tune ups and sell other gear needed by triathletes.

Kissing Crows Cyclery

  • What: The imaginatively named Kissing Crows Cyclery is a full-service shop, no appointment needed. It also sells high end bikes, and builds stout commuter wheels, dynamo wheels, and high end carbon race wheels.

The World Cycles

  • What: The World Cycles offers full service of most makes and models of bike, plus sales of unique vintage bikes. Owner Danu Huber is also the inventor and founder of HUKK BIKES, a quality downhill mountain bike, and aims to do things differently.

  • What: The folks at Super Champion call it a specialty bike shop, but they’ll do repairs on pretty much anything. Binner bikes are their specialty, but they also love road, track, fixed, SS, and vintage.

The Standard

  • What: The Standard is your friendly neighbourhood bicycle repair shop, mechanic owned and operated. Same day or appointment service is available, specializing in road and mountain bikes, from custom wheel builds to fork overhauls.
