Beautiful BC: Tofino boasts next level beaches

May 26 2017, 3:29 am

From amazing mountains to stunning lakes, BC has something to suit every taste. Oh and did we mention we’ve got beaches too? Because we have, and some of them are stunning enough to rival any white-sanded tropical paradise – well almost.

Take for example Tofino, a perfect storm of jaw-droppingly beautiful beaches and laid back lifestyle that has to be seen to be believed.

Where is it?

Perched at the very edge of Vancouver Island’s West Coast, Tofino is surrounded by old-growth rainforest, rugged coastline and the natural beauty of the Clayoquot Sound.

How do you get there?

Grab a ferry from Horseshoe Bay or Tsawwassen and you’re then greeted with a roughly 2.5 – 3 hour drive to reach this coastal mecca. Those without wheels can always take the bus, or even fly if they want to save themselves a few hours.

What’s there?

From great food to laid back locals, Tofino is one of those places that just seems to slow life down. But Tofino’s biggest draw is undoubtedly its beautiful beaches.

Facing some of BC’s best surf, these sandy spots are a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life offering panoramic views of sand, sea, sky and even the occasional whale if you’re lucky enough.

Perfect for storm watching in the colder months or surfing in the summer, they’re as much fun to play on as they are beautiful to look at.

When to go?

Tofino is great all year round. Whether you want to snuggle up and watch the storms roll in during the colder months, or soak in some rays in summer; you wont be disappointed.
