Balloon sculpture in Vancouver highlights real estate development talks
One building in Vancouver may be in danger of breaking free and floating away, as thousands of balloons will soon adorn its walls.
No, the old man from UP hasn’t come to Vancouver, but Jihan Zencirli, founder of Geronimo Balloons, has. Zencirli has been commissioned to create a sculpture out of nearly 5,000 balloons on the walls of the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre, in preparation for Vancouver’s RED Talks.

The Real Estate Development Talks are happening on Thursday, March 30, though the construction of the sculpture is set to begin on Tuesday, March 28.
Balloons are a fitting building material for Vancouver, as the city’s housing bubble has been a hot issue over the past few years.
Anyone interested in seeing the bubble sculpture being created can curb their curiosity by stopping at Dunsmuir and Hamilton Street from Tuesday morning.
If it turns out to be anything like Zencirli’s other work, it will definitely be something worth seeing.
