Air Canada and WestJet are offering accommodations for passengers affected by the wildfires in BC.

Air Canada has revised its ticketing policy until August 22 for flights for the BC interior impacted by the fire. The flights can be changed free of charge to another travel date before September 1.

WestJet is offering flexible change and cancel options for guests travelling to or from Terrace, Prince George, Kamloops, Penticton, and Kelowna until August 22.

“We continue to monitor the situation and advise all guests to check their flight status before arriving at the airport,” Morgan Bell, of WestJet, told Daily Hive.

Passengers can check current travel advisories on the Air Canada and WestJet websites.

The BC government declared a provincial state of emergency on Wednesday morning to support the province-wide response to the ongoing wildfire situation.
