A magnitude 4.9 earthquake was detected off the west coast of Vancouver Island late Wednesday evening, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
The USGS says the quake struck at 9:22 pm, approximately 252 kilometres west of Tofino, at a depth of 10 kilometres.
No damage has been reported.
This latest seismic event comes just 10 days after a series of seven earthquakes were detected off the B.C. coast in the same region.
