While it’s always eating season for us foodies, something about the warm weather gets us pumped to tackle new culinary feats (mostly because we can nap in the sun in a food coma afterwards).
Recently there’s been a few new outrageous food challenges that have become available in Metro Vancouver, and we’re up to tackle all four of them.
Here are 4 new outrageous food challenges to bite into in Metro Vancouver.
This is a two-person eating challenge, so it costs $60 per person to enter, and you’ve got to inhale this thing back in under 30 minutes. The dish itself is a humongous poké bowl full of crab salad, wakame, cucumber kimchi, edamame, pickled ginger, and masago served on a bed of white rice topped with fried garlic and shallots, and two pounds of fresh fish. Winners of this first round each get $50 gift cards to Riz, and they’ll be entered to win a trip to Las Vegas.

Where: Riz Sushi – 2887 East Broadway, Vancouver
Even though it’s an official food challenge, attempting to taking down Metro Vancouver’s largest Tawainese Beef Noodle dish is definitely a personal one. Pearl Castle Café offers this huge helping of the classic eastern dish, but only at its Continental Centre location in Richmond. The Beef Noodle Colossal’s size is equivalent to three or four bowls of a regular helping, and they claim it’s the biggest in the Vancouver area. Available in regular, tomato, or spicy, the creation is $30-$33 depending on which variety you choose.
