TTC subways will run all night during Nuit Blanche next weekend

Nuit Blanche is happening next weekend in Toronto and if you plan to stay all night ’til the sun comes up, then lucky for you the TTC will be staying up too.

For one sleepless night, Toronto will be transformed by hundreds of artists and nearly 90 art projects under the event-wide curatorial theme of Continuum.

This year’s event will present two City of Toronto-produced, curated exhibitions in Scarborough and at Fort York, and a large-scale artist installation at Nathan Phillips Square.

All art projects will be clustered into nine easy-to-navigate neighbourhoods to make exploring the event more efficient.

And to make travelling from project to project easy, the TTC is offering all-night service on its major subway lines, according to the agency’s spokesperson Stuart Green.

That’s right, in addition to the regular all-night Blue Night Network service, the TTC is extending all-night service to the subway from end to end on Line 1 Yonge-University, Line 2 Bloor-Danforth, and Line 3 Scarborough.

According to Nuit Blanche and the TTC, the following routes will be open all night:

  • Line 1 Yonge-University service will operate all night from Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station to Finch Station.
  • Line 2 Bloor-Danforth service will operate all night from Kipling Station to Kennedy Station.
  • Line 3 Scarborough service will operate all night from Kennedy Station to Midland Station.

Day Pass/Group Day Passes purchased for use on October 5 will be valid until 7 am on October 6.

Access to Line 3 Scarborough from 7 pm on October 5 to 7 am on October 6 will be free at Scarborough Centre Station only.

So get out there and take the TTC ’til the sun comes up… literally.
