"What the hell does that mean?": Trump asks crowd after reading statement on Canadian trade
President Donald Trump criticized Canada once again.
An hour into a rally speech in Fargo, North Dakota on Wednesday, Trump picked up a piece of paper from his podium as he began to complain about Canada’s wheat grading.
“John and Kevin gave me something, they told me this,” he said, probably referring to Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee and member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, and Rep. Kevin Cramer.
“Canadian wheat markets consistently discriminate against the United States’s wheat by grading it as feed.”
He then points at the audience and asks, “Do you know what that means? They know what it means,” he said, now pointing behind him.

Trump then immediately replies to his own question, with another question.
“I don’t know what the hell it means. I just know it’s a bad deal. What the hell does that mean?”
He then takes the paper and throws it in the air, dismissively.
Trump brings back the dairy tariff, “but it’s true, Canada charges us on dairy products a tariff of 275%,” he says. “That’s like saying we don’t want your dairy products, it’s no good…I hear they raised it to 300%.”
And the US President also brings back Prime Minister Justin Trudeau into the speech.
“Justin gets up, he said, ‘We fought World War I together, we fought World War II’ — all true — ‘together.’ All true. We love Canada,” Trump said. “But they’re taking advantage of us. We can’t let that happen.”
But it’s not just about Canada, Trump wants the world to stop freeloading.
“The era of global freeloading and taking advantage of the United States is over,” he said.
