Woman charged with attempted murder after stabbing baby and man in Etobicoke

A woman has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after stabbing a man and a four-month-old baby in Etobicoke.

According to Toronto Police, on Wednesday, December 13, at 8:35 am, officers responded to a call for an unknown trouble in the Evans Avenue and Sherway Gate area.

When they arrived on scene they discovered that a man, woman, and baby were in an apartment, where the man and woman were arguing. The woman began making threats while holding a knife.

The woman then stabbed the man and baby. The man then fled the apartment with the baby to seek help. When officers attended the scene, they found a four-month-old baby with serious injuries.

The 34-year-old Toronto woman has since been arrested. She is charged with: attempted murder, two counts of utter death threats, assault causing bodily harm, and assault with a weapon.

She is scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Thursday, December 14.

While the man’s injuries are considered minor, the baby remains in critical condition in hospital.
