Alleged drunk driver slams into police cruiser in fast food drive-thru

Just before Christmas some idiot decided to give himself the gift of a DUI.

And he’s lucky that’s all he got.

Officers were sitting in the drive-thru lineup at a fast-food restaurant near Highway 27 and Carrier Drive around 10:30 pm on December 23 when they say they were struck from behind while their marked cruiser was stopped.  One of the officers was slightly injured.

After investigating the person who hit them, the officers arrested the man behind the wheel for impaired driving.

And was he ever impaired, say TPS.

“His breath samples were almost four times the legal limit,” the force said in a bulletin sent to media.

Jaswal Davinder, 27, is charged with impaired driving and driving while over 80 mgs.

He is slated to appear in court on January 9.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-2300, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
