These are the best Toronto neighbourhoods to go trick-or-treating in

Thinking of heading out trick-or-treating in Toronto this year?

If you’re not sure where to go, here’s a list of some of the best neighbourhoods in the city to collect candy with your kids (or by yourself, we’re not judging – even if others will).

Baby Point

The Baby Point neighbourhood is roughly the area around Jane Street and Annette Street, north-west of downtown Toronto. Located near the Humber River and Magwood Park, this is a quaint family-friendly area that is sure to have some good candy options.

Cabbagetown

One of the city’s most popular neighbourhoods, Cabbagetown is all about community spirit. From decorated houses to candy, this is a one-stop Halloween neighbourhood. And the low traffic numbers makes it particularly safe.

Harbord Village

Just west of the University of Toronto, Harbord Village is a perfect mix of residential and commercial properties. It’s also a popular trick-or-treating location in the heart of the city.

Forest Hill

Arguably one of the city’s prettiest neighbourhoods, the mansions of Forest Hill also get into the Halloween spirit. Might need a bigger goodie bag here.

Roncesvalles

Although it feels like a European neighbourhood, Roncesvalles gets right into Halloween mode because of the many families in the area. Definitely worth the streetcar ride to see.

Leaside

If you’re further north, check out Leaside around Bayview and Millwood. With many schools in the area, lots of families take part in Halloween here each year. And it’s a large area, so again, a bigger pumpkin bag might be worth bringing here.

Bloor West Village/High Park

Within walking distance to High Park, Bloor West Village is home to lots of families. This area is one of your best bets for candies in the west end.

Rosedale

Among the ravines and parks in Rosedale are some of the city’s most sought after residential streets. And with that, comes fully-decked out Halloween homes and lots of trick-or-treating opportunities.

Heddington Avenue

Each year, Heddington Avenue (near Avenue Road on Eglinton) attracts hundreds of trick-or-treaters on Halloween thanks to its spectacular spooky displays. Bonus, the entire street is blocked off so no cars are allowed and kids can run free.
